Well, the Consumer Electronics Show is well underway in Las Vegas,USA.I usually strain myself on Monday mornings, wake up at 8:30 and goto the office at 9:30 but I could’t miss this year’s CES.The highlight of the whole event was the Keynote Speech of Bill Gates. This year it was special, this was his last speech as Chairman of Microsoft.Come July 1,and he’ll not be a full time employee at Microsoft. He will spending some time towards the new developments at M’soft but most of his time will be spent with his charity,The Gates Foundation, which is in fact run by his wife Melinda Gates. Those who came in expected him to go out with a bang but were they in for a surprise. He put up a video on his last day at Microsoft.
There were cameos by Matthew McConaughey,Jay-Z,Bono,Steven Speilberg,George Clooney,Jon Stewart,Hillary Clinton,Barack Obama. It was a self mocking video.Hilarity aside, there were lot of things from Statistics to new gadgets.Microsoft Surface also made an appearance. That is one cool computer and i’d kill to have one.Just have a look at the video below and tell me you don’t like it.
Robbie Bach showed the Xbox statistics and gave furthur info on the IPTV service.UK will be the first country to experience it thanks to BT.You can by a 360 from BT as a set-top box.He showed off some Sync 2.0 but that didn’t interest me much. When Bill came back on,he bought with him a gadget which would recognize a picture and associate with its real world location.Like if you show a picture of the Eiffel Tower,it would recognize it as Eiffel Tower and provide you with the various info you require.Pretty Cool!I don’t think you have to wait long as this will definitely find its way in future iterations of Windows Mobile.Gates ended with an argument with Robbie as to who’ll win in GHIII.Robbie bought out the GHIII competition winner while Bill rocked with Slash from GNR.
